October 01 My Fashion WorkPortrait photography is one of my favorite. In this unfortunate Thai rainy season, is hard to capture the nice landscape photo with the gray sky, so I have to focus on something else. Portrait job is also easy to get and earn some money from it. Not only nice view and beautiful model will produce a good work, I discovered a lot of complication of composing the portrait work, so I mean this is really challenging job. I'd like to appreciate Mae, she is the one who kindly post for me, she also working as a professional model, who has nice and easy going girl character, and I can’t forget to mention about her professional performing she made everything gone smoothly. I setup the location of this fashion set at the ancient northern Thai style house, because environment of the house is rich with textures of old wood and a lot of trees. I like the model to be contrast with the hose that’s why is asked her to dressed like you see in the pictures. With the HDR technique I can produce the colorful and high details photo by combining tree different exposure's value of same shot together by a special HDR program, and post adjust in Photoshop again, so it’s took me so long to done each, but I’m quite happy with the result. September 13 Another time with Trang and Kabi
Don’t have to tell you again about how beautiful of these places. That’s why I’m always having some good photos from there and this time as well. Unfortunately, I don’t have chance to take landscape since I came back to Thailand unlike Australia, so it I start to thinking of there already, but now I have a lot of things to do, it cloud take me for awhile to ready for travel again. With my new camera which is Canon EOS5D, It gains me more picture quality, and flexibility to do the image processing. The full frame sensor delivered ultra low nose and much wider angle from the same lens; this is what I have been waiting for long time, the camera allow me to use hand held in high ISO and use less tripod. Anyway, next time I will introduce one of my favorite image process technique what call HDR (High Dynamic Range). I applied it to my portrait photos, so I’ve got a very interesting result. July 16 I'm back to Chiangmai for good
I haven’t updated this place for long time after I moved back to my home town for good, since DEC 2006. I had to do a lot of things, that’s why I forgot to working on updating my space. It was hard to adjust my self back to live in Thailand again after 5 years in Australia. Anyway I’m still love photograph and have a lot of photos to show in here. This time I put photo of my Chiangmai, Thailand. Hope you will enjoy it. April 18 Another time with Tasmanian's natureOne of my friends came to visit me from Melbourne and he also a photographer. That was a good chance for us to have a photographic trip around Tasmania again. We went to many places and took a lot of photos. Most of them I got along the road just stop the car point and shoot. My favorite’s time is still the sunset time or afternoon; the light of that time is perfect for landscape photo. Most of them I used wide angle lens which is Canon EF17-40 F4 L to captured the landscape. I preferred to use tripod as much as I can, to prevent the vibration of hands, with slow shouter speed technique to take the landscape photo. Aperture Priority mode (AV) is my favorite camera setting and I always set to F22 for wide DOF of the photo.
PS. What do you think about my new design picture frame? Please let me know. February 08 Koh ChangKoh Chang is the second biggest island in Thailand (The biggest one is Phuket) the natural environment in here is still excellent. Besides growing amount of tourist year by year it’s quite surprise me that the nature here is still looks pure. This is my first visit and I don’t know much about this place so I spent many hrs for walk and try to find place to stay. I can remember how hot at that time. For people like me who living in Tasmania for many years I definitely can’t stand in the temperature in Thailand at that moment with a big luggage plus a 10kg camera backpack, so now you got the picture, I reckon.
I ended up with the resort which is I think it is the most beautiful and suitable for my budget (USD$112 / night approx) the resort is name “Koh Chang Tropicana resort and spa” if you see the photos of this place in my photo gallery then you will agree with me. Unfortunately, at that time there was raining every day so I couldn’t get many photos of beaches and scenic area. Mostly are the photos of resort area and some sunset shots.
If you interested in Koh Chang you can easy catch a bus from Bangkok to the province name Trad (6 hrs.) where is located at east part of Thailand and connect with the ferry boat to the island if you are looking for the perfect place for your second honeymoon this the place you are looking for.
By the way, I have builted the web site for selling my works. If you have time please visit http://phudinan.multiply.com/ in that web site I put additional and higher quality photos. If you interested in photo in my space and would like to order the print please email to me at mr_pu@msn.com by according to the prices base in my website above. February 04 Samet islandThis is the one of my favorite place. Koa Samet is small isolated island where is 3 hrs drive from Bangkok by car. This island is still have pure nature environment and surrounded with many beautiful beaches. Due to it is the one of the most well known places for tourist, so you will be able get a very luxury accommodation or, budget room to stay.
Night time here is fantastic. I like to walk on the beach then make decision with restaurant I should stop by and have a front beach dinner under the candle light. Some time there have a performance of screwing fire ball at front of your dinner table, it is very impassive. I’m always carrying my camera with me, and I’ve took some shots to put in here, and you will agree with me when you see it.
Well, I have been here so many times because it is not too far from Bangkok, and I will visit here again when I go back Thailand in this year. This is the place what I’m strongly recommended to every one who have a chance to visit Thailand and you will know what I’m talking about. January 28 Trang Thailand
Trang is city located in the south of Thailand. This is the one of tourist attraction place. The city is far from the 3 southern cities which having the terrorist threat problem, so this city is very safety and peaceful. Almost half of population is Thai-Chinese the others is Thai southern traditional people. I can tell that the city has many influences from Chinese culture that’s why the life style over there is difference form the other southern cities.
The city is also rich of naturally spactacular places, E.g. beaches, caves, and small separated islands. Unfortunately, I had no time to go every place, except only some beaches, because the rain was killing almost all of my time(how bad luck I am). Anyway, the attractiveness of this small city and people is appeal me to go back and spent more time over there. Now I’m counting down to revisit. Just waiting for me “Trang” it won't be long for me to be returned. January 14 Chiang Mai
The reason of inactivity in my space is I went back to Thailand for a big while. Now I’m back already, so I’ve got a big bunch of Thailand’s photo with me now. I can’t upload all of it here, so I just selected some good one showing here.
Chiangmai is northern city of Thailand. The city is rich of their culture heritage and nature attraction. Apparently, the city is crowded with tourist from every where. I was living here for more than 10 years, so here is my home. I just have a little regard about the time frame over there was not enough for me to go around and take more photos.
October 04 Sakura & Sunset
I accidentally found this place. This city name Delorine. This city is also located in Tasmania same as my city (Launceston). I drove by and saw the park has a plenty of Sakura trees fulfill with their flowers. I just stop the car, graped my camera and start shooting. These are normal photos of flowers and some few of landscape, but they’re look different by light. I waited until sunset and started took shots. Yeah this is my favorite time for photograph if you try you will know how easy to produce an attractive photo with this condition of light. September 23 Liffey Falls
Now is my last month of my last semester. I have a lot of assignments and thesis to do, after that I will get my master degree (ha ha). So I really have no time to update my space, and go out to have a photo trip. This set of photo was taken few weeks ago. I went to the Liffey falls with my friend who came from Perth to have a trip with me. I went to this place so many times, but each time I always took different photo style. This time I tried to lower my camera to take the closer shot of water and the result is interesting. Any way if you try to do this way is risk for your own camera to drop in water. Well just be careful! After October I will have a plenty of time to update my space, but will update it during October as well. Please come back to visit some time. August 09 Mt Ben Lomond
Mt Ben Lomond is the most popular ski resort in Tasmania. I’m quite surprise about the freaky winter this year, now is August but there still haven’t got enough snow for skiing up there. We are waiting for the opening of this year ski season. I very like skiing I don’t know why, probably because we never have snow in Thailand, that’s why I’m dying from wait. This time I went up for kind of observation up there and fund a little hope of ski opportunity might coming soon. Anyway ski season this year will be so short. July 26 My FriendsJuly 21 Mt Barrow with snow
I shot against the light in almost photos in this set. The very important to aware is there have more chance to have lens flare on the photo; anyway I can prevent it by chose the angle that can see the latest flare effect. Each lens also has different effects when against the light; thus the good one should have less flare, but taking photo by this way is alway get some very interesting result if you do the right thing.
July 16 Ross
Ross the small city about 56 Km (approximately) far from Launceston. I went there to have a coffee, and very nice scallop pie at the tourist attractive bakery shop. The city also have some historic places they are not too far from the bakery shop, I walked around these places, and stop at one old bridge. The bridge looks more than 100 years old, but I can’t find more information about it, anyway it’s beautiful enough to spent my time to take its photos for few hrs. I also got some good twilight scenic shots around the bridge as well. July 11 First Snow
The Mt Field National Park is one of Tasmania's most loved national parks. The park has a wide variety of scenic features and wildlife and offers a great range of facilities not only for day visitors, but also for campers as well. I went there with my Japanese friend, who is a professional photographer. Obviously, proposal of this trip was take the Russell Falls’s photo. And also this is the first long trip of my new telephoto lens which is “Canon EF 70-200 F2.8 L IS”. After we got there we walked straight to Russell Falls and took several shots. I was very enjoy seeing the big waterfalls and capturing the impressive view into my memory card. At that moment I thought that was a climax of this trip. “Hey why don’t we try to drive up to the mountain”, said my friend, honestly, I have know idea about up there but we still have time, so we went up. Well I was surprise about amount of snow when I reached the top. It was my first touch snow of this year. Eventually, I have got a lot of the mountain’s scenery photos and my most impressive photos are from the mountain instead of the waterfalls. The most frequent used lens is my new lens because; I want to test its quality, and want to get used to this 1.5 Kg weigh white color lens. Well the quality is beyond my expectation; it’s very fast focusing speed, amazing bokeh quality construction good color and contrast very sharp focus. Sound’s is perfect for me except the weight gonna kill me when I carry it. ha ha. July 07 Color of Melbourne cityI just came back from Melbourne yesterday, it was my short holiday over there before my new semester begin in next week. The next semester is my last one, and I will graduate afterward yes! That’s what I’m waiting for long time. The Melbourne city is second biggest city in Australia the city is much bigger than my city. Melbourne is good for fun, going out, eat a good food, and enjoy the night life. But there are not so many places to take photo in point of view of people who like to take photo and expecting the good photo of this city, most of photos full fill with building, and people walk on the street. Personally, I like the nature landscape photograph, so taking city’s photo is not my preference. I decided to upload just the night time photos of the Melbourne city. The rest are photo of people and buildings which are not so interesting, and I will upload some more photos of the Great ocean road in next time.
June 29 Foggy BeachThis is the way to capture the beach to look more fantastic, by using slow shutter speed. The result is I can get the nice sunset foggy beach. This is my favorite technique, which is using very slow shutter speed with tripod. This trick is the same with waterfall photograph, but I use slower speed as much as my camera can do with appropriate aperture. However, one of most important tool is ND filter. The ND will enable camera use slow shutter speed under strong light situation. Actually, it’s just the back glass for reduce among of light before pass through lens. This set of photo was taken at the twilight time in Friendly beach Tasmania. The color in all photos is original color, I just used Photoshop for adjust level and curve. Anyway, I have sent a photo of this set to Thailand international photo contest. I don’t know it’s good enough or not, but just wanna try ha ha.
June 24 Mt. BarrowClick here to see the Mt. Barrow gellery Mt. Barrow is the nearest place, where I can go to see snow, just 30 minutes drive from my home. I usually been there in winter time, but I just know there is very beautiful in summer too. Before I decided to go up there I just want some place where I can take photo of sunset, I didn’t know it was foggy at that moment. Well! I’m lucky again! Me and my friend we were quickly get out from car, and took several shots until no light. We were quite happy for that trip, and plan to go up there in winter time again and get more different photo from up there; of cause, I will put more photos in here, as soon as I can get the winter photo of this place. For this set of photo, I use the same lens, which is EF 17-40 F4.0 L for capture the wide angle view. But I hadn’t used tripod so often. I deal with the low light by increased the ISO to 400. This technique will enable hand held in low light situation, but I will get more noise in photo as well. It’s mean that the photo quality will be reduced; it would be ok if it’s not beyond my acceptable. June 15 Color of waterHave you ever think that we could produce an interesting photograph from water? You just need a cup of water and your camera with a big flash. This idea came from my friend who borrowed his flash to me. Then I found this flash support high speed sync feature. Why we don’t try it, I thought. High speed sync is feature to increase the synchronous speed shutter with flash. Normally, SLR camera will have one or two specific flash sync speed, such as 1/60, 1/125, 1/200, or 1/250, due to we have to make sure about synchronism between shutter and flash. Anyway this feature will enable user to use higher shutter speed to work with flash such as 1/1000 – 1/8000. But if you use this feature it’s mean you squeezed power from flash more than usual.
June 10 Sunset at the riverClick here to see the River Sunset gellery One day my friend knocked my room's door, and told me that afternoon the light was so beautiful. Suddenly after I saw the color of sky, I told my friend to jump in the car and drove away from my place. Just find some spot to take photo of sunset. Well if you are never chasing the sun you wouldn’t know how fast is it! The sun gone faster than I expected. I decided to pull over the car as soon as I can find some where have water, and can see the sun in the same place. Well after 20 minutes from my house I arrived at the town name Hillwood. The town have river very near with road, I just stop and jump out to find the good spot to take some shots. This time I used very small aperture, for focus covered all area in photo, so I set my lens aperture to F22 full time in AV mode, it’s means I have to use tripod all the time because, small aperture also needs longer shutter speed as well. One addition technique is using the C-PL filter to make water look better and can see through the bottom of river. The white things in water are oysters there are plenty of it around here. |
